Severe inflammatory acne often leaves behind scars as a reminder of a rather uncomfortable period in our adolescence and early adulthood. These scars could be small and superficial - just a few on the cheeks or chin or, sometimes, they are more noticeable, reaching into the deeper tissues producing broad lesions.
At our practice, we apply a variety of proven treatments to resolve all type of acne scars and improve the appearance of facial tissues: microdermabrasion, lasers, microsurgery, and other more sophisticated techniques.
Since acne scars come in various sizes and shapes, all treatment must be individualized: elevated scars can be treated by flattening or leveling of the superficial tissues by using microdermabrasion. Shallow scars can be blended with surrounding tissue with laser applications; the appearance of the scars is improved by replacing scar tissue with more vascular skin.
Deeper, broad scars, and "ice pick" scars or pits respond favorably to a combination of microdermabrasion, microsurgery and soft tissue augmentation.
Our doctors will advise our patients as to the best treatments available for their particular situation - the first consultation is always free of charge.
36 years old male patient with multiple relatively superficial acne scars on both cheeks. At the time of consult patient had limited dermatitis on the right cheek, which was resolved before microdermabrasion treatments started. Laser applications and frequent use of Vitamin C preparations resulted in a more youthful facial appearance.
Multiple deep acne scars on both cheeks and chin of a 41 years old male patient. The picture on the right shows the progress of the application of combined treatments at the end of two months. Microdermabrasion, laser, Vitamin C and localized tissue augmentation were used.
How Many Treatments Are Necessary for acne scars?
The number of treatments and modalities used are different for each patient: with only a few and very superficial scars, probably three or four combined treatments of microdermabrasion, laser and Vitamin C would produce satisfactory results. With broad, deeper scars it usually takes between eight and ten treatments to achieve good results.
How Much Does It Cost to Treat Acne Scars?
Our fees are based on the type of scars and treatments used to obtain satisfactory results, and the actual time it takes per treatment session.
For a few, superficial scars, treatment sessions usually take between fifteen and thirty minutes to complete, depending on modalities used. Treatment sessions for deeper scars are longer, particularly when microsurgical modalities are applied.
Our Fees: $280 to $680 Per Treatment Session.
Depending on the type and size of the scars.
